User Comment: dtander-1 from Calgary Canada, 14 September 2012 • I really liked the first ResEvil movie, and I've been going along with them ever since, but this is the end of the line for me. This movie was a total waste of time
and money. There's no plot, just a situation that Alice has to fight her way out of. There are some good stunts but nothing we haven't seen before. Most of the action is just ridiculous...bad guys that don't die, guns that don't run out of ammo,
characters that can be interchangeably good or evil at the whim of the scriptwriter. It's like a five-year-old playing with toy soldiers. The actors are so wooden, and look so plastic that I honestly couldn't tell if they were CGI creations or actual
human beings.
Milla and her husband should be ashamed of themselves.
Summary: Absolute crap.
Editor's Note: Sigh. Resident Evil: Retribution is a completely derivative and unnecessary sequel to a franchise that's just dragging its heels and hiding an absence of story behind a barrage of gunfire and smooth production
values. This one is the worst yet, a film completely devoid of original thought and content, made only to once again show Mila and company doing their thing in slow motion. Maybe the next one will be better; chances are it can't be any worse. Sony's 3D
Blu-ray release of Resident Evil: Retribution features dazzling video and audio.
Summary: 3D-equipped fans will want to pick this one up, while others are strongly encouraged to rent first.
[CSW] -3.4- You have to accept this for what it is, a lot of action and no substance. If you liked the other Resident Evil movies, you should like this one. I enjoyed it as there was a lot of good action, but don't expect more. The acting was mediocre and
I'm not sure there was any kind of plot. However, it did end with a set up well for the next movie. I will be adding the 3D version to my collection but only for what should be great 3D eye candy, the action, and the slow motion effects, because the
nonexistent plot almost subtracts from the overall film.
[V5.0-A5.0] MPEG-4 AVC - No D-Box motion codes were available at the time of this rental although they are available now.
